What Dialup is

Dialup answers your business phone when you can't.

You describe your business once. Dialup gives you a phone number and an AI agent that picks up calls to it, holds a normal conversation with the caller, and writes up what happened.

On the call

The agent greets the caller as your business and talks. There is no menu and nothing to press. It answers questions from the information you entered: opening hours, address, services, prices, parking, whatever you've told it. It asks for the caller's name so it can use it next time they ring. When it can't help, it takes a message covering what they wanted, how urgent it is, and when they'd like to be called back. If someone asks for a human, it stops and raises a callback request.

On Dialup Desk it also works against your calendar, checking what is available and booking, moving or cancelling an appointment while the caller is still on the phone.

Afterwards

Every call leaves you a transcript, a recording, a written summary of who called and what they needed, and a contact created from their number. You get an email, and the call appears in the app.

What it isn't

It isn't a chatbot on your website. This is the telephone, and your callers dial exactly as they always have. It isn't a recorded menu. And it isn't a replacement for you: it handles the calls you would otherwise miss, and tells you about the ones you need to take yourself.

How calls reach it

Two ways. You can forward your existing number to your Dialup number, either always or only when you're busy or don't pick up, so nothing changes for your customers. Or you can publish the Dialup number directly on a web page or an advert, so those calls go straight to the agent while your main line carries on as it is.
